HONE Heating, Hot Water with Pool System.

This installation is a typical residential installation for large holiday homes with heating, hot water and pool heating all coming from on-site HONE systems all year round. In this location in the Italian Riviera, some backup is needed in the depths of winter and this is provided by a wood burning stove. HONE is the primary energy system of all the buildings energy footprint. This HONE system is designed to put all its energy into the building in winter at low temperature as an alternative to previous oil fired heating. The home is typical empty during the winter.

What HONE system has been installed here?

The system installed is a standard HONE Heating, Hot Water with Pool Heating System. A wood burning stove provides any winter backup if the home is used. In winter the HONE system puts all its energy into providing low temp heating to keep the house warm and free from dampness.

What was the motivation for the homeowner?

The homeowner wanted to remove the oil fired heating ahead of carbon taxes.

The energy bills will be extremely low with only timber consumed if the home is used at any time during the winter, the vast majority of energy will be powered by the HONE system for free.

Where there any challenges with this installation?

This house was a retrofit, a very simple straight forward project. This project used radiator heating throughout the building. The HONE system integrated easily.
