HONE Heat, Power & Drive System.

This installation is our standard HONE residential Heating & Hot Water, Power & Drive system designed to provide heating, (inc hot water) & free electricity to power the home and car all year round. In this location the HONE system will provide nearly all the heat energy required annually. This home is a new build home which makes the installation of HONE very straight forward. The home has a wood pellet boiler stove to cover any backup in Winter. The home has a car charger added which is powered by the HONE system.

What HONE system has been installed here?

The system installed is a standard HONE Heating, (inc Hot Water), Power & Drive System. A small wood pellet boiler stove acts as a backup when needed in Winter. The HONE system is the core heating system.

What was the motivation for the homeowner to do the upgrade?

The homeowner required a very low energy rating, nZEB, less than 40 kWh/m2/yr. Less than 1% of homes were deemed energy efficient in a 2018 report so it is difficult to source local technology in Poland to date.

They also wanted to achieve low energy bills, significantly less cleaning and loading of wood pellet fuel annually in addition to a significant improvement in air quality around the house. The homeowners have an electric car for commuting.

Where there any challenges with this installation?

This house was a new build, a very simple straight forward project. This project used small low radiators throughout the building ans each one is individually zoned for very efficient management of heat.

What are the savings expected?

This system is designed to do most of the annual energy as the home meets nZEB of less than 40 kWhrs/m2/yr. The running cost of the home should be in the region of €500 for any additional electricity or heating (wood pellet stove). The free charging of the EV will also save on petrol costs increasing savings indirectly on the home.
